Share Files

Share a clip or file with a link, no account needed

Need a simple Streamable alternative for a clip or a link for another file type? Upload a video up to 500 MB, or an image, GIF, audio file, PDF, archive, text file, Word document or spreadsheet up to 200 MB. The result gets a clean public viewer and a direct file link that you can copy. Shared files are automatically deleted after 90 days, so this is designed for temporary hand-offs rather than permanent storage.

Cost: Free to use. File size and usage limits apply.

How to share a file

  1. Choose one file

Click the upload area or drop a file onto it. Each upload takes one file: a video of up to 500 MB, or any other supported file of up to 200 MB. You do not need an account.

  2. Wait for the upload to finish

The bar shows how much of the file has been sent. Videos larger than 50 MB are re-encoded on the server once the transfer is complete, so the bar can stay at 100% for a while.

  3. Check the preview

You see the file name, then its type, size and, where the server could read them, the width x height in px. Images, GIFs, videos, audio and PDFs get a preview; an image only appears if your browser can display its format. Other files show a card with the name and MIME type. The deletion date is shown below the buttons as Deletes plus the date.

  4. Copy the link you need

Copy link gives you the viewer page, Copy direct link the file itself; the button briefly changes to Copied. Download saves a copy under the original file name.

  5. Or share a file you already have here

Files you uploaded or created with other tools on this site in this browser are listed under Share existing browser files. Click Share next to one to create its links without choosing the file again.

Copy link, Copy direct link or Download?

There are no processing options. The buttons decide what the other person receives.

Copies the address of this page with the share ID attached (/share?share= plus the ID). The recipient sees a player or preview, the file details and a Download button. Use it when the link has to work for the full 90 days.
Copy direct link
Copies a link to the file itself, for example /share/direct/<ID>.mp4; the extension follows the stored file type. Images, videos, audio, PDFs and text files are sent for viewing in the browser, with seeking for video and audio. Word, Excel, OpenDocument, RTF and ZIP files download instead. The link returns the file for 7 days. After that only the previews on this site still load it; opened in a browser tab, embedded on another site or posted in a chat app, it redirects to a viewer page with Download and Open file buttons.
Download
Saves the stored file under its original name and works for the full 90 days. A re-encoded video is saved with the .mp4 extension, so a clip uploaded as clip.mov downloads as clip.mp4.
Share
Next to each file under Share existing browser files. Results from this site's tools are copied on the server exactly as they are, even videos over 50 MB. Files you uploaded in another tool are uploaded again from your browser, so the size limits and the video re-encode apply. If the file was shared before, you get the same links again instead of a second copy.
Trash icon
Removes the file from this browser's file list, which every tool on this site shares. The share and its links stay online until they expire.

What happens to videos over 50 MB

Videos larger than 50 MB are re-encoded right after the upload. The server uses FFmpeg with the H.264 encoder at CRF 23 and preset slow, converts the audio to AAC at 128 kbps and moves the index to the start of the file, so playback can begin before the whole file has loaded.

Resolution and frame rate stay as they are; an odd width or height is rounded down by 1 px. The picture is stored as 8-bit 4:2:0, so 10-bit or HDR footage loses its extra bit depth. Only the first video stream is kept, all audio tracks are kept, subtitle tracks are dropped, and container metadata such as the recording date or location tags is removed.

The re-encoded version replaces your upload only if it is smaller. If it is not, or if encoding fails, your original is shared unchanged. After a successful re-encode the original is deleted.

CRF 23 is the H.264 encoder's default quality level, and there is no option to change it or switch the re-encode off. To choose the quality or size yourself, process the clip with Compress Video or Cut Video and share the result with Share under Share existing browser files: tool results are copied unchanged, even above 50 MB. A video you upload yourself, here or in another tool, stays untouched only at 50 MB or less.

Frequently asked questions

Which link should I paste into Discord or another chat app?

Use Copy direct link. It points at the file itself and ends in its extension such as .mp4; chat apps generally need a link like this to play media inline. Whether a player appears also depends on the app's own rules and size limits, and after 7 days the direct link redirects to a viewer page instead of returning the file.

Why is my shared video smaller than the file I uploaded?

Uploaded videos over 50 MB are re-encoded to H.264 MP4 at CRF 23 with 128 kbps AAC audio. That version replaces the upload only if it is smaller. Frame rate stays the same; an odd width or height is rounded down by 1 px. Uploads of 50 MB or less and tool results shared with Share are kept as they are.

Can I share several files at once, or a file type that is not listed?

Not directly. Each upload holds one file and gets its own links. Pack the files into a ZIP archive of up to 200 MB and share that; the same works for types the page refuses, such as PowerPoint files or RAR archives. A ZIP never opens in the browser: the direct link and Download both save the archive.

Who can see my file, and can I delete it early?

Anyone who has the link can open and download the file; there is no password option. Everything except a re-encoded video is stored byte for byte, so embedded metadata stays inside, for example the GPS location in a photo's EXIF data or the author name in a PDF. For photos, run them through Compress Image with Strip metadata switched on (the default) and share that result. The trash icon here only clears your browser's list. If you were signed in when sharing, delete the share under My Conversions in your account. Guests cannot delete a share early; it disappears after 90 days.

Why was my file rejected?

The page accepts the formats listed in the table above. For other file types, pack the file into a ZIP archive, which is accepted up to 200 MB. Size errors name the limit directly: Videos must be 500.0 MB or smaller or Files must be 200.0 MB or smaller.
